The new Laney PRISM P20 Guitar Amplifier Combo is a versatile 15-watt amp loaded with effects and following the Laney philosophy in Digital amp design. The PRISM P20 features a logically laid out pre amp which gives you clear access to everything you need.

The Laney Prism P20 is the smallest member of the new PRISM range, but don't let its size fool you - this is a feature packed amp.
Housed in stylish and thoroughly modern looking cabinets the P20 features a logically laid out pre amp which gives you clear access to everything you need.

The Laney P20 Prism pre amp features two modes: - HERO mode and LIVE mode. HERO mode comes pre-loaded with 11 inspirational guitar tones from "Clean to Extreme" which take their inspiration from the different amp and effects combinations used on classic guitar recordings.

For a breakdown of the P20's HERO modes click here.

In LIVE mode the P20's controls function like a conventional WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) amplifier, but with the cool feature of being able to use one of the 11 different AMP setting as a starting point for producing your own tone. Simply select the AMP mode you want, adjust the controls to suit and the add the effects you want - more on that in a moment - and then store the end result to one of the four user channels on the amp by simply pressing and holding the desired channel button for 2 seconds.

Talking of effects The Laney P20 Amp houses a comprehensive multi-FX Palette consisting of 11 carefully selected effect combinations giving you access to all the classic studio quality effects you'll need. Each effects selection is fully editable with all the key parameters accessible by the TAP and EDIT control functions and combinations of the TAP, A, B & bypass buttons, all of which are fully explained in the manual.

Well first I must admit I am a fan of ss amps. Having said that, I did my homework on ALL the current modellers available. After much research and comparison I settled on this amp as the best choice for my home practice needs. If you're reading this you're probably already familiar with the specs on the P20 so I won't elaborate. However, I would recommend checking out the review of both the P20/P65 in the Sept 2010 issue of Guitar and Bass Magazine(also check out "VOXMAN'S comments on the Laney Posse blog). I must say the quality of this amp is at least as good as any of it's competition. Furthermore, at this price it is an absolute steal. Probably it's closest competitor is the Fender Mustang I (I would not consider the Line 6/Vox/Peavey offerings in the same league-and I have owned the Vox and Fender prior to returning for the P20). Another intangible benefit in my mind is the Prism are a bit of a rare find as you don't see these on "every street corner" so to speak. I enjoy the fact that my Class A chime is the VC model instead of the VOX you always find elsewhere. Don't be put off by the fact you may not have a chance to demo this first as I assure you the good reviews you're reading on the internet are true. As far as my initial impression of MFA.biz see my testimonial to be posted soon. Regards, SD-Dallas, TX
