The design preserves the aesthetic tradition of French pointed arms, which demand the responsibility of perfectly seated pads.
For many years, Student flutes were usually sold with plateau keys and offset G keys. Most Pro flutes were sold with open holes and "In Line" G keys. This resulted in many people viewing "In Line" as a professional mechanism. In the past, we have even heard an offset G doesn't "look" professional.
Some consider "In Line" the only choice for a better flute. In recent years however, we have sold an increased amount of Offset G flutes. As of 2008, we now sell roughly the same number of In Line to Offset G flutes.
